Abstract Hans Weinmann was born in Vienna, Austria and became a naturalized citizen in September of 1944. Earlier that year he had been accepted for service in the United States Army. Hans attended S-2 (counterintelligence) school and later served in the Philippines and post-surrender Japan. He was a member of the 2nd Engineer Special Brigade. This collection contains his service-related correspondence, photographs, memorabilia, and medals. These materials had formerly been kept in a scrapbook which has been disassembled to preserve the contents. This collection also contains an oral history interview that was taped on June 16, 2010.
