Admin/Biog History The Best of Beth El: a musical retrospective was a musical event on May 13 and 14, 2000 with a cast of 150 Beth El members at the Bonstelle theater, Beth El's temple from 1903-1922. The musical event included scenes from a historical video, large-screen projections of historical photographs and dozens of Broadway-style production numbers.

The materials in the 150th anniversary collection relating to the Gala event were donated by Trudi Wineman and Shelly Cooper, members of the 150th anniversary planning committee. Trudi and Henry Wineman were Committee Co-Chairs and Shelly and Peter Cooper were responsible for the Anniversary program. The Anniversary Celebration took place on November 11, 2000 at the Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn, Michigan. The 150th anniversary celebration was the culmination of a yearlong commemoration of the founding of Michigan's first Jewish congregation, originally called the Bet El Society.
