Abstract The Henry Lenhoff Collection contains clippings, photographs, certificates, diplomas, licenses, correspondence, documents, military orders, and medals relating to Mr. Lenhoff's career in the United States Merchant Marine and Navy, c. 1942-1980.
Admin/Biog History Henry Lenhoff, born October 15, 1923 entered the Merchant Marines in 1942. He served in WWII in the American and European/African/Middle Eastern Campaigns and the Korean War. This collection details his entire military career through documents, correspondence and official military paper work. He was married to Muriel Lenhoff on November 13, 1955, and had three children Stuart G., Brian J. and Charles A. Henry, re-married in 1966 to Phyllis Mony, had three step children: Mary Pudivack, Michael Mony and Randy Mony. Henry and his mother, Helen Lenhoff were Temple Beth El members. Henry Lenhoff died May 29, 1999 and is buried in Beth El Memorial Park.
