Sigmund Simon was born in Bavaria in 1842 and came to the United States with his parents at an early age and settled in New York. In 1865, he came to Detroit where he became active in the retail clothing business. He was active at Temple Beth El Pisgah Lodge B'nai B'rith, and the Phoenix Club. He married Caroline Cohen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Cohen. They are the parents of Louis, Clara, Isaac, Fanny, and Marcus. |
