Family Collections

The Family Files and Collections include approximately 45 boxed collections and 800 family and biographical files. Material contained within the collections include scrapbooks, photographs, correspondence, genealogical records, programs and pamphlets, certificates, and diplomas. These relate not only to family connections with Temple Beth El, but to the broader history of the entire family. The Family Collections include important members and leaders of the Detroit Jewish community.

Temple Beth El members are encouraged to donate materials to further expand their existing family collection or create a collection. These collections are important for documenting the social history and dynamics of the history of Temple Beth El and Jewish life in Michigan.
