Object Name lantern slides
Abstract The Lantern Slide Collection contains approximately 200 lantern slides of illustrations of Jewish ceremonial life, hand painted scenes from the Torah, photographs of Temple Beth El members and past Temple buildings, and hymn and song lyrics.
Admin/Biog History The Lantern Slide collection was collected by Temple Beth El staff and used for educational purposes. It is not documented who ordered the slides or for what special events they were used for. However, the slides were used for teaching about passages from the Torah, historical figures of Temple Beth El, and for the learning of songs and hymns. The slides were most probably used by the Religious School and the Rabbi.
