In 1998, Heidi Christein was hired to be the first professional Archivist of the Rabbi Leo M. Franklin Archives. "The Man and His Message" was her first task as Archivist, which would celebrate the life of Rabbi Franklin. Rabbi Leo M. Franklin was Rabbi of Temple Beth El from 1899 to 1941. The exhibit ran from September 10 through October 30, 1998. On September 9, there was a preview celebration to mark the opening of the exhibit , including a presentation of a specially commissioned video, "Bringing Communities Together: the Legacy of Rabbi Leo M. Franklin." |
