Admin/Biog History In 1854, Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise founder of American Reform Judaism, came to Cincinnati to occupy the pulpit of Congregation B'nai Yeshurun. A few months after his arrival, he established the Israelite, an English-Jewish weekly.
