Admin/Biog History NA'Amat USA was founded in the United States by Labor Zionists Activists in 1925 as a sister organization to NA'Amat Israel. NA'Amat is a Hebrew acronym for T'nuat Nashim Ovdot U'mitnadvot, the Movement of Working Women and Volunteers. In Israel, it is the largest women's organization, where it is part of over 1,000 educational, vocational and social service organizations. It has branches in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, England, France Peru and Uruguay. In the United States, NA'Amat was formerly known as Pioneer Women/ NA'Amat. NA'Amat's programs and services spring from a point of view, a set of goals and a vision of a better life for every Israeli citizen. It was founded in Israel in 1921 and was originally called Moetzet Hapoalot and has ever since been dedicated to creating a more equitable society and to establishing equal rights for women in Israel/ In order to do this NA'Amat operates a network of institutions and a board variety of programs for mothers, children and young people. A major purpose of these activities is to help narrow the social, educational and cultural gap that exists in Israel.
